Does your child love stories?  So do we! Join the Story Ventures team to explore the art of storytelling at Jerwood Gallery this half term.

Children are invited to cosy down in our story camp, where they can enjoy original night-time tales, uncover untold accounts of Peter Pan (as seen in Paula Rego’s 2017 The Boy who Loved the Sea and other Stories exhibition) and create new stories together. We’ll warm up vivid imaginations through fun improvisation exercises like word at a time stories and gibberish secrets. Working as an ensemble, we’ll create stories in turns, connect ideas and refine skills in the art of listening and interpreting gesture; ensuring all voices, big and small, are heard.

Improv has been described as ‘yoga for social skills’ (Kelly Leonard, Second City Executive) as it teaches you to understand the intricacies of communication.  With our focus on improvisation techniques we will provide a workshop that is fun, educational and memorable.

This is a family interactive storytelling workshop suitable for  4 –10 year olds and will run for approximately 45mins. Children are invited join us in their pyjamas if they wish!
