Drawn to the Page
25 February 2017

This month’s workshop will be at the Jerwood Gallery in Hastings and we’ll be looking at the exhibition Keith Tyson: Turn Back Now.

There will be lots of inspiration to be had as you learn about the art on display and develop your own creative responses to the paintings, working in prose, poetry or autobiography. We’ll use a combination of group discussions, writing exercises, individual writing time and sharing in a group to get the very most from the gallery experience.

Entrance to the exhibition is included in the price of the workshop ticket – and all you’ll need to bring is your notebook and pen.

Saturday 25 February, 2pm - 5pm

£30 for your half day workshop at Jerwood Gallery – or you can book two or more Drawn To The Page workshops this season for a discounted price of £25. Click here to book.

No previous knowledge of either art or writing is necessary to enjoy these sessions. All writers who attend are offered the opportunity to publish their writing on the Drawn to the Page blog which will be updated monthly. One of our recent participants has also just published a story she started at the gallery in the high profile, Litro Magazine. You can listen to what happens in a Drawn To The Page session on the BBC Radio 4 Open Book programme here.

The sessions will be facilitated by writer and artist, Wendy Ann Greenhalgh. Wendy Ann is part of the New Writing South Creative Learning Team and an experienced writing tutor, as well as an arts educator who’s worked in galleries all over the South East.

Drawn To The Page is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
