Exploring 20thc Art through the Jerwood Collection
Select Thursdays from September 2018

10.30am - 12.30pm

Discover more about the lives, work and times of selected artists from the Jerwood Collection and contemporary exhibitions, in this friendly ten session course.

The course offers a unique opportunity to explore works on display in the gallery, followed by lively and thought provoking discussions in an inclusive and friendly environment in the learning studio. Although some prior knowledge of art history is useful, it is not essential.

This popular course is the sixth in the WEA Art History Series at Jerwood Gallery and we are delighted to welcome new tutor Louise Simkiss-Day. Louise is an experienced museums and galleries professional with over ten years’ experience, including Compton Verney and Royal Museums Greenwich. She trained at Goldsmiths with a particular focus on modern and contemporary art.

“I enjoyed every aspect of this course; looking at paintings in the gallery, listening to others on the course and the tutor’s background talks are always fascinating.” (student feedback).
