Jerwood Gallery Ltd. Privacy Notice 2018
 
At Jerwood Gallery we take data security seriously.  We do not sell, rent or trade the email lists we have.  We will only use your email address in the way in which it was entrusted to us. 
 
To make sure that you are really clear of our intentions and the way in which we hold your data, we have put together this privacy notice.
 
Website Cookies
The Jerwood Gallery website (www.jerwoodgallery.org) uses Cookies for measuring website usage.  The data stored by cookies and how long it is stored for looks like this:
 
It stores each user’s number of visits, time of the first visit, the previous visit and the current visit.  This expires 2 years after your last visit to the site. 
It checks how long a visitor stays on the site: when a visit starts and ends.  This expires 30 minutes after your visit (or after 30 minutes of inactivity) or when you close your browser
It tracks where a visitor came from (search engine, search keyword, link). This expires 6 months after if was last set. 
It tracks visitor journeys through the site and classifies them into groups, which expires immediately. 
 
We use this information alongside Google Analytics, which we explain later, to ensure you get the best user experience when visiting our website.  We do not store any personal data from and you as an individual cannot be identified in anyway. 
 
Google Analytics
When someone visits www.jerwoodgallery.org we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site.
 
This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. 
 
Guest Wifi
When you log onto the Guest Wifi named ‘Jerwood Public’, we may collect data about:
 
a) your device;
b) the volume of data which you use;
c) the websites and applications which you access; and
d) your usage by access time, frequency and location.  
 
We will not share this information with any third party or profit from the data captured.  In the event that internet records are required as part of a police investigation, we will fully comply. 
 
Mailing Lists
As part of the registration process for our monthly e-newsletter, we collect personal information, in this case, we ask for your name, your email address and your postcode.  We then ask you about your subject preferences, so we know what information you would like to receive.  We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
 
We use a third-party provider called Campaign Monitor, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see Campaign Monitor's privacy policy
 
You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails.
 
Membership Data
When you subscribe to our Membership scheme at Jerwood Gallery, we collect your personal data.  This data includes your name, address, email and contact number.  We use a third party called Access Gamma to securely store your details.  Access Gamma is part of The Access Group, and you can read more and their information is freely available, you can learn about The Access Group privacy policy if you would like. 
 
When you pay for your membership using direct debit, we use a third party called GoCardless who store and manage your ongoing payments.  This is explained to you at the point of signing up to our membership schemes and alternative ways of paying is offered to you should you not wish to pay using direct debit.  You can read more about GoCardless’ privacy policy directly.
 
If you chose to pay for your membership in person using cash, card or cheque in person, your payment details are not stored.  If you call us to renew your membership over the phone and give us your card details in order to make the renewal, your card details are not written down put directly into the card machine which is treated as a transaction. 
Access to your personal data
 
You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to info@jerwoodgallery.org with the title ‘SUBJECT ACCESS REQUEST’ and a member of the team will come back to you. 
 
Changes to our privacy policy 
We will work to ensure that our privacy policy is as up to date as possible, that it coincides with the most up to date legislations and is as transparent as possible.  To do so, we will review our privacy policy annual.  The next privacy policy review will be 1st April 2019.

We use Google Analytics to collect information about how people use this site. We do this to make sure it’s meeting its users’ needs and to understand how we could do it better.
