The latest addition to the Jerwood Foundation’s collection of large scale sculptures at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire was installed on a sunny day in late September. Entitled Green Fuse, the six metre high granite obelisk took internationally renowned sculptor Peter Randall-Page a year to carve and weighs nearly fourteen tonnes. It now stands at the summit of The Avenue, the central vista in the park that Capability Brown laid out at Ragley in the eighteenth century. Scattered through the gardens and park, the Jerwood Sculpture collection can be viewed when Ragley is open to the public between February and November.
