We have re-opened our doors this month with a newly designed café space. Working with three Hastings based organisations – 44th Hill, Hastings & Bexhill Wood Recycling Project and Philip Oakley Illuminations – the café has been transformed creating a warm cosy retreat with fantastic and cooking and service by Webbe’s at Jerwood.

The new design was inspired by the Jerwood Gallery itself and the surrounding environment. The dark walls reference the surrounding net huts and external tiles on the gallery, the wooden table herring-bone design references the boats on the fishing beach and the fish themselves, whilst the lighting is a nod to the lobster pots and the sculpture by Benedict Carpenter in the gallery courtyard.

In addition to the updated décor the gallery has introduced a new café offer for Jerwood Gallery members. Members can now bring in three guests to the café per visit free of charge.
