We are excited to announce that the gallery has been shortlisted by Culture 24 for next year's Connect10 Museums at Night competition. The gallery has a unique opportunity of winning the chance to hold a special event with performance photographer, Spencer Tunick, during the Museums at Night Festival in May 2014.

Spencer Tunick is best known for organising large-scale nude photos-shoots across the world. Since photographing nudes in New York during the early 1990s, Tunick has devoted himself to “performance photography”, embedding nude figures within well-known landscapes and locations.

For Museums at Night 2014, Spencer is planning a nude photo-shoot which will involve volunteer participants. If Jerwood Gallery is successful in winning the artist, the photo-shoot will take place in Hastings, using a location along the town’s stunning coastline. There will be a special event at the gallery the following day, during which participants will all receive their own unique viewing scope with a Spencer Tunick photograph from the shoot.

Two other venues along the south coast have also been shortlisted to compete for the artist, Georges House Gallery, Folkstone and Royal Pavilion and Museums, Brighton.

For a second year we are calling on our loyal visitors and supporters to vote for us and spread the word. Click here to vote. #VoteJerwood
