Jerwood Gallery has today been awarded a 2013 RIBA National Award by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in recognition of architectural excellence. The gallery, designed by architects HAT Projects, was one of two national winners for the South East region. The other winner was Colyer-Fergusson Building, University of Kent by Tim Ronalds Architects.

Jerwood Gallery is among 52 buildings in the UK and Europe which have received RIBA Awards today. The shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize, for the best building of the year, will be drawn from these RIBA National and EU Award winners.

Liz Gilmore, Director of the Jerwood Gallery is delighted with the news of the award and said:

“Jerwood Gallery is an architectural exemplar, future facing environmentally and operationally. We are absolutely thrilled that Jerwood Gallery has received this National endorsement and congratulate HAT Projects for their amazing achievement.”
